We are prepared for supply shortages

Supply and Demand

The pandemic has been a challenge for a variety of reasons and currently, supply shortages is a big one. Between the lock downs to flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases, Suez Canal shipping container obstruction, labor shortage, global raw material shortages, and even currently the Vancouver / British Colombia floods; the global supply chain has shifted, and getting supply has been a big challenge for all trades (including ours) around the world.

Platinum Air Care always maintains an ample supply of equipment for your HVAC system needs, including furnaces, air conditioners, repair equipment, venting, water heaters, and more to ensure that we are always able to serve our customers.

Preparing for the worse case scenarios

Supply chain disruption is real and in the holiday season, it may become difficult for consumers to get what they need in a timely fashion without shipping delays. Shipping containers supply everything from your new cell phone to carpets and building materials, to what we specialize in; HVAC and home purification systems.

This year we have received a few new customers specifically because of supply issues. These customers normally use their own independent HVAC technicians, however, these independent technicians did not hold stock and were not able to get certain equipment without a 1-2 week minimum wait time, and from what we are currently noticing, gas water heaters, including electric water heaters, tank hot water heaters, and tankless water heaters are currently becoming harder to source, and lead times (time until availability from suppliers) are becoming longer and longer.

Already a few times earlier this year, furnaces (from single stage to variable), and air conditioning systems were on backorder briefly. This is why companies like Platinum Air Care prepare inventory ahead of time; to make sure we are able to serve our customers without delay.

How supply shortages affect you

Like we mentioned earlier, we received new customers this year because their local HVAC guy couldn’t get the equipment they needed when they needed it. In the middle of summer when the heat was too much to handle, it’s a priority to get your air conditioner fixed; or if it had its lifespan, upgraded and replaced with a new one with energy efficiency in mind.

When patience is not an option, like this upcoming winter; it is important to know you can rely on your HVAC company to make sure your home is comfortable year-round. We hope the supply-chain impact will be over soon as this greatly affects independent contractors and even some larger HVAC contractors in North America, but in the meantime, we will do our utmost to maintain ample stock to serve our customers in London and surrounding efficiently as possible.

Platinum Air Care is ready when you are

Unlike most companies currently, which are encouraging equipment upgrades while they have stock now, and are able to source equipment; but just because they have availability doesn’t mean you need to force an upgrade of your furnace, air conditioner, or water heater. Stick with our handy guide of when you should repair or replace your HVAC equipment, and when the time is right, we can help you out with both furnace repair, or furnace replacement, and of course repair or replacement for any of your other HVAC needs!
