How it works
How the 7-stage reverse osmosis system works
The Advanced 7-Stage Alkaline Water Station (7QCRO) improves water quality in 7 steps. Stage 4 is the reverse osmosis membrane, and stage 6 adds healthy organic minerals, leaving the water alkaline and pH-balanced.
-
Sediment Filter
Reduces suspended particles in water such as dirt or sediments.
-
Granular Activated Carbon Filter
Reduces chlorine, chloramines, and other water treatment by-products.
-
Carbon Block Filter
Reduces herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and insecticides.
-
Thin-Film Composite (TFC) RO Membrane Filter
Reverse osmosisReduces Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), heavy metals, germs, and tiny impurities from the water.
-
Ceramic Filter
Reduces 99% of E. coli bacteria and salmonella from the water.
-
Re-Mineralizing Filter
AlkalineHealthy organic minerals are added, leaving the water alkaline and pH-balanced.
-
Carbon Block Filter
Reduces and absorbs odors, leaving the water with a fresh, clean taste.
Why a water station
Why should I invest in a 7-stage water station?
Like air, the water sources and quality we consume are not always guaranteed to be in their purest form. There are many harmful impurities that could be in your water. Having various types of water filtration depending on your needs means reduced chemicals, fresher feeling or tasting water, and prevents bad smell or taste from finding its way into your tap. Investing in a residential water filter system is a commitment every family should consider.
Water is more important than we give it credit for
There are many people who are not getting enough water every day. Our bodies need a certain amount of water each day to maintain healthy hydration. In addition to hydrating our bodies, having pure water with an advanced 7-stage reverse osmosis water system does a lot more:
- Purified water improves the taste of coffees, teas, and juices
- Potatoes, rice, pasta, soups, and more that are cooked with filtered water taste better
- Wash all your fruits and vegetables with filtered water for clean and healthy snacks
- Save money by no longer purchasing bottled water: refill from the water station for the best water, every time
- Eliminate plastic bottles and make room in your refrigerator
- It can be connected to your refrigerator, ice maker, or coffee machine if desired
Drinking enough water provides health benefits such as helping flush bacteria from your bladder, aiding in digestion, normalizing blood pressure, protecting organs and tissues, and so much more.
Filtered water for pets, too
We aren’t the only ones who love clean, filtered water
Our animal companions also benefit from drinking alkaline water. Water contaminants vary by location, but heavy metals, chlorine, bacteria, and fluoride are among the most common in tap water from any location in North America. All living things need clean water to survive. Your dog is no exception.
While you’re enjoying a glass of refreshing and healthy filtered or purified water, don’t your furry companions deserve the same?
Contaminant reduction
What the 7-stage system reduces: lead, fluoride, copper, and more
The Advanced 7-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) System has been tested for the reduction of the substances listed below. The concentration of the indicated substances in water entering the system was reduced to a concentration less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 58.
| Substance | Influent challenge concentration (mg/L) | Maximum permissible product water concentration (mg/L) | Minimum % reduction | Average % reduction |

† This appliance has been tested for the treatment of water containing pentavalent arsenic (also known as As(V), As(+5), or arsenate) at concentrations of 0.30 mg/L or less. This appliance reduces pentavalent arsenic, but may not remove other forms of arsenic. This appliance is to be used on water supplies containing detectable free chlorine residual at the appliance inlet or on water supplies that have been demonstrated to contain only pentavalent arsenic. Treatment with chloramine (combined chlorine) is not sufficient to ensure complete conversion of trivalent arsenic to pentavalent arsenic.

Questions
7-stage reverse osmosis system: common questions
Is the 7-stage water filtration system a reverse osmosis system?
Yes. Stage 4 is a thin-film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membrane, which reduces total dissolved solids (TDS), heavy metals, germs, and tiny impurities from the water. Three filters before it and three after it complete the 7 stages.
New to reverse osmosis? Read our guide to reverse osmosis water filters.
Is the water alkaline?
Yes. Stage 6 is a re-mineralizing filter: healthy organic minerals are added, leaving the water alkaline and pH-balanced.
Can it connect to my refrigerator or coffee machine?
Yes. It can be connected to your refrigerator, ice maker, or coffee machine if desired.
How often do the filters need to be replaced?
We recommend replacing filters #1, 2, and 3 every 1 to 2 years on average. Filters #4, 5, 6, and 7 are recommended to be replaced every 3 to 5 years, depending on usage. Filters #1, 2 & 3 and the full set of all 7 are in our Canada store.
How much does a 7-stage water system cost?
It depends on your water and on your home. Some homes need only the 7-stage system; others pair it with a water conditioner or a chlorine filter. That is what the free in-home water test is for, and it costs nothing.
