What a repair or service visit covers
Three things happen on every visit, in this order.
We look at it, at your house
We open the unit and check the lamp, the collection cell, and the filters — plus how it is installed and where it sits in the airflow. A system fitted badly fifteen years ago will underperform no matter how new the filter is.
Small jobs happen there and then
A filter change, a lamp, a cell that needs rinsing, a check that it is running as it should. That is done on the spot and the unit stays where it is.
Real work comes back with us
Anything past a clean and a consumable goes back to our shop, where the parts, the tools, and the bench are. Nothing leaves your house without you knowing, and we tell you what we think it needs before it goes.

Most of what a system needs is a part, not a technician.
UV lamps
The Platinum PCO and the Platinum Carbon UV take the same replacement lamp, so one part covers both. The Platinum PURE is the exception — it takes a different one.
Filters
HEPA, carbon, and pre-filters for current systems and for the whole RespirAide series. Filters and parts are interchangeable across the RespirAide models.
Cell cleaner
For the washable collection cells in the electronic units. A clean cell is the single biggest thing you can do for one of these yourself.
Service visits are within the area we install in. Filters, lamps, and parts we ship anywhere in North America - so if you have moved away, your system can still be kept running.
Between visits
The electronic collection cells in the RespirAide and SaviAir units are washable, and doing it on schedule is most of what keeps them working. We publish the full instructions rather than holding them back — a customer who maintains their own unit still calls us when it needs a part.

Both. A good share of what arrives as “it has stopped working” turns out to be a filter, a lamp, or a clogged collection cell - that is a service call, and it is the cheaper outcome for you. Where something has genuinely failed we repair it, provided the part is still manufactured. On electronic air cleaners in particular we have been at this long enough to know which faults are worth chasing and which are not.

The same area we install in, across Southwestern Ontario. Parts are a different matter: filters, lamps, and consumables we ship anywhere in North America. If you have moved away from the area, or bought a home with one of our systems already in it, you can still get what it needs.

Frequently it is. Most of what comes in needs a filter, a lamp, or a clean rather than a repair. Where a unit genuinely is past it - usually because a mechanical part is no longer manufactured - we will tell you that instead of selling you a visit.

It depends on the system and the household. UV lamps lose output gradually and are generally changed once a year. Filters vary a great deal: a carbon filter in a home with smokers or pets is doing far more work than the same filter in a quiet house. We will give you an interval that matches your home, not a generic one.

For most of them. Lamps for the Platinum PCO and Platinum Carbon UV are stocked, and filters and parts for the whole RespirAide series are on the shelf. The main exception is the Saviair 5000: filters we have, but several mechanical parts are no longer manufactured, so a repair is not always possible.

Yes, and on the electronic units you should. The collection cell in the RespirAide and Saviair systems are washable, and keeping them clean is most of what keeps those units working. We publish the step-by-step instructions rather than holding them back.

The model name, roughly when it was installed, and what it is doing now - a noise, a smell, a light that will not clear, or simply nothing at all. A photo of the unit or the label is just as good if the name as worn off.
