✓ Air Purification
Medical-grade air purifiers for your home or business
Two ways to get there. A portable all-in-one unit - prefilter, HEPA, carbon, and a UV-C + PCO chamber in one cabinet - or a whole-home system fitted into your furnace ductwork and out of sight, installed in Ontario homes since 1999.

Portable air purifiers
Everything in one cabinet - prefilter, HEPA, carbon, and UV-C + PCO - covering most homes on its own and used in thousands of medical and commercial environments. Move it to whichever room needs it most.
A portable makes sense when…
- You are in an apartment or condo with no ductwork
- One or two rooms are the problem — a bedroom, a home office
- You want to move it to whichever room is being used
- You already have a whole-home system and want more in one room
- A dental office or treatment room needs a set number of air changes per hour
- Wildfire smoke season — nothing to install, and it works the same day
MedicAir® Pro
Hospital-grade HEPA in a portable unit with leading design and performance.
Whole-home air purifiers
Fitted at the furnace and out of sight, it treats the air before it is redistributed through the house - rather than one room at a time. It works whenever the furnace fan runs, and the fan can be set to a low continuous speed so that air keeps passing through it between heating and cooling cycles.
A whole-home system makes sense when…
- You have forced-air heating and cooling
- The house is on more than one level and shares ductwork
- Someone in the house has allergies or reacts to what is in the air
- The house is sealed up tight through the winter
- You want the same air everywhere, not room by room
- You would rather not see the equipment at all
Two different jobs. Filtration catches particles as the air passes through it. UV-C and PCO treat what a filter cannot catch - odors and airborne contaminants. A home that wants both ends up with one of each, which is the trade-off against a portable: The MedicAir® Pro does both jobs in one cabinet, but sits in the room.

Filtration waits for the air to come to it. Active air purification works the other way around - it treats the air and the surfaces in the room, rather than only what passes through a filter. ActivePure® is the technology behind the Aerus line, and Platinum Air Care is an authorized dealer. The Beyond Guardian Air and Guardian Air Home use the ActivePure® technology.
NOT SURE?
Active purification is usually added alongside filtration, not instead of it. Which combination suits the house depends on the layout and how the air actually moves through it.
Ventilation and commercial air purification
Two more things we do that sit alongside purification rather than inside it.
Ventilation - HRV & ERV
Purification cleans the air you have. Ventilation brings fresh air in and stale air out, without throwing away the heat. Cores, filters, and the intake and exhaust runs are all serviceable.
Commercial air purification
The same equipment we put in family homes is in dental offices, care homes, salons, universities, and more. Sized for the room and the occupancy, not the square footage alone.
Common questions
-
The term describes the level of filtration, not a certification. It means true HEPA - the same filter grade used in clinical settings, usually combined with carbon for odors and a UV-C PCO stage. Our portable and duct-mounted units are built to that standard, which is why the same equipment ends up in dental offices and care homes as well as houses.
-
It removes the dust, dander and pollen the system would otherwise keep moving through the house. Those are the things most people react to, so less of it in the air can only help.
-
It depends on the equipment and on the house - a portable and a duct-mounted install are not the same job, and what suits one home is wrong for the next. That is what the air quality test is for, and it costs nothing through Platinum Air Care.
-
Preference, mostly - one is not the upgrade of the other. Duct-mounted stays out of sight and reaches everywhere the ducts do. A portable puts the purification where you actually are, which is the fastest way to change the air in the room you are in, and you can move it. Plenty of homes run both, and more than one portable is common. The MedicAir covers most homes up to around 2,500 sq ft on its own; the air changes per hour calculator will size a room for you.
-
It works whenever the furnace fan runs, or when the fan is set to a low continuous speed, so air keeps passing through between heating and cooling cycles rather than only during them.

Often, yes. We still supply filters, UV-C lamps, and parts for many brands, including RespirAide, SaviAir, Surgically Clean Air, APCO, and more. Tell us your model, and we will see if we can help.
Already own a RespirAide, SaviAir or Platinum unit?
We still supply replacement filters, UV-C lamps, and parts for units we sold years ago, and we still service and repair many of them.
