Radon mitigation & removal systems

How a Radon Mitigation System Works

When reducing radon in the home, installing a radon mitigation system is essential. Our radon control devices can reduce the radon in the building by up to 90%. Not only that, but our Platinum Energy Recovery System can also reduce radon levels by up to 25–30%.

  1. A path for the gas

Pipes inserted through the foundation create a path for the gases under your home, leading outside.

  2. A sealed sump lid

An airtight cover on a sump basin or crawl space prevents the entry of radon gases.

  3. Vented outside

Radon mitigation systems typically rely on venting soil gases away, not on treating the air: the gas is redirected out and away from your home.

When Do You Need Radon Mitigation?

Radon gas is radioactive, colorless, odorless, and enters through the cracks and holes beneath your home. It can be present in any home, regardless of age or type, and testing is the only way to know your home’s radon level.

Health Canada’s guideline is 200 Bq/m³, equal to 5.4 pCi/L. Its recommendation for remedial action:

Over 200 Bq/m³

Mitigate within 1 year

If your home’s yearly average is above the guideline, Health Canada recommends taking steps to reduce the radon level within 1 year.

Higher levels

Act sooner

The higher the radon level, the sooner Health Canada recommends taking action.

Let us help remove and mitigate the effects of radon by installing solutions to redirect the harmful gas out and away from your home.
