Heating and Cooling Needs in Sarnia, Ontario

Homes in Sarnia rely on heating and cooling systems year-round to maintain comfort through changing seasons. Factors such as home age, insulation, equipment condition, and usage patterns all influence how well an HVAC system performs over time.

As equipment ages, efficiency and reliability may decline. Our technicians can help you decide whether repair, replacement, or system upgrades are the most practical option based on comfort goals and long-term performance.

  • Heat pumps

    Heat Pump Repair in Sarnia

A heat pump heats and cools from one outdoor unit. We install heat pumps, and we repair and service most makes, not only the ones we install.

Paired with your furnace, it makes what York calls a hybrid system: the heat pump can be your main source of heat in the colder months, and the furnace backs it up in extreme cold.

Common questions

Do you repair air conditioners in Sarnia?

Yes. York is what we install, but we repair and service most air conditioners already in Southwestern Ontario homes. Warm air, ice on the refrigerant lines, or a unit that runs all afternoon and never catches up: call (519) 686-3595 and tell us what it is doing.

Do you repair heat pumps in Sarnia?

Yes. We repair and service most makes of heat pump, not only the ones we install, across London and Southwestern Ontario. If yours has stopped heating or cooling, call (519) 686-3595.

What HVAC services do you offer in Sarnia?

Furnace repair and replacement, air conditioner repair and replacement, and heat pumps, plus furnace tune-ups, ventilation inspection, thermostats, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and water heaters: installs, repairs, and service alike.

Who supplies natural gas in Sarnia?

Enbridge Gas, which served about 26,400 customers in the city when it applied to the Ontario Energy Board in 2023. Gas distribution in Sarnia goes back to about 1878 and the Sarnia Gas Company. Electricity comes from Bluewater Power, which began as the Sarnia Hydro-Electric Commission in 1916. Enbridge delivers the gas but doesn't sell or repair furnaces or water heaters: for repairs and maintenance, it points homeowners to an HVAC contractor.

What size furnace or heat pump does a Sarnia home need?

Ontario's Building Code sets Sarnia's January design temperature at −16°C, the outdoor temperature heating systems there are ordinarily designed for, and its July design temperature at 31°C. Environment Canada's 1981 to 2010 record at Sarnia's airport averages about 15 days a year above 30°C, and 35.9% of the city's homes were built in 1960 or before. Which size suits a house comes down to its ductwork, insulation, and windows, so a new one is sized to your home and your ducts, not just matched to the old unit's label.

We Install York Furnaces and Air Conditioners

York is the equipment we put in homes — a full range, from a straightforward single-stage furnace to fully modulating heat and variable-speed cooling. A furnace and air conditioner are one system, so we fit them as a matched pair, sized to your house rather than to whatever was there before.
