MedicAir® Pro vs Jaspr Air Scrubber (Jaspr Pro)

An alternative to the Jaspr air purifier

The MedicAir® Pro is Platinum Air Care’s alternative to the Jaspr Air Scrubber, sold earlier as the Jaspr Pro. Like the Jaspr, it combines a HEPA filter, activated carbon, and an air quality sensor in one portable unit, and it adds a 24 W UV-C light.

  • 24 W UV-C light beside the HEPA and carbon; the Jaspr uses filters only
  • 28 dB on its lowest speed, against 30 to 33 dB in Jaspr’s published figures
  • An optional app that tracks and exports your air quality readings

Why choose MedicAir® Pro by Platinum Air Care?

MedicAir® is used by thousands of medical professionals, including the NHS (National Health Service) in the UK, and by Fortune 500 companies. Set beside the Jaspr Air Scrubber, the MedicAir® Pro adds a UV-C stage, runs quieter on its lowest speed, and connects to an optional app.

  • 24 W UV-C light

It sits beside the HEPA and carbon filters. Jaspr’s own FAQ says the Jaspr has no UV light.

  • Quieter on low speed

28 dB, against 30 to 33 dB in Jaspr’s published figures.

  • UV-C bulb in the cartridge

The pre-filter, HEPA, carbon, and UV-C bulb come in one cartridge, rated for 5,000 hours or longer.

MedicAir® Pro vs Jaspr Air Scrubber

A 24 W UV-C light, a quieter lowest speed, and an optional app that exports your data. There’s a reason why MedicAir® is used by thousands of environments across the world.

This comparison does not show every difference between the MedicAir® Pro and the Jaspr Air Scrubber. Comparative information comes directly from Jaspr’s website (its product pages, specifications, FAQ, and filter store) and user manual, and from MedicAir’s published specifications. “Grade not published” means Jaspr’s product page (and the lab report it links), specifications, user manual, and FAQ don’t list a HEPA grade.

*Each takes a single filter. The MedicAir® Pro’s cartridge holds the pre-filter, HEPA, carbon, and UV-C bulb together and is rated for 5,000 hours or longer. Jaspr’s 3-in-1 filter holds a pre-filter, activated carbon, and a HEPA filter, with a lifespan of up to 6 months.

**Filter cost per year, 2026 prices. MedicAir® Pro: $299.95 for one cartridge. Jaspr: Jaspr replaces its filter every 6 months, so a year is two filters: 2 × $299 = $598 bought one at a time, or 2 × $199 = $398 on Jaspr’s filter subscription.

†Each maker’s own published figures at the lowest fan speed. Jaspr lists 33 dBA in its specifications (33–58 dB in its user manual) and 30 dBA in its FAQ.

‡Jaspr’s warranty is 1 year; it becomes a lifetime warranty while a Jaspr filter subscription is active.

Jaspr sold the Air Scrubber earlier as the Jaspr Pro. Jaspr and Jaspr Air Scrubber are trademarks of their owner.

Questions

MedicAir® Pro vs Jaspr: common questions

What is an alternative to the Jaspr air purifier?

The MedicAir® Pro. Like the Jaspr Air Scrubber, it combines a HEPA filter, activated carbon, and an air quality sensor in one portable unit. It adds a 24 W UV-C light, which the Jaspr doesn’t have; it runs at 28 dB on its lowest speed, against 30 to 33 dB in Jaspr’s published figures; and it has an optional app that tracks and exports your air quality readings.

Is the Jaspr Pro the same as the Jaspr Air Scrubber?

Yes. Jaspr makes one model, in one size: the Jaspr Air Scrubber. Jaspr sold it earlier as the Jaspr Pro, with the same power, sound level, size, and weight in its published specifications, and its old Jaspr Pro web page now opens the Air Scrubber’s.

Does the Jaspr have a UV-C light?

No. Jaspr’s own FAQ says the Jaspr has no UV light and uses no electronic cleaners: its 3-in-1 filter holds a pre-filter, activated carbon, and a HEPA filter. The MedicAir® Pro adds a 24 W UV-C light and a PCO chamber to its HEPA H13 and carbon stages, and its UV-C lamp chamber does not produce ozone.

How often do the filters need changing?

Each takes one filter. The MedicAir® Pro’s cartridge holds the pre-filter, HEPA, carbon, and UV-C bulb together and is rated for 5,000 hours or longer, and its LED screen shows the hours of filter life left. Jaspr lists a lifespan of up to 6 months for its 3-in-1 filter, and its filter subscription sends a new one every 6 months.

How much does the MedicAir® Pro cost?

It depends on the space: how many units it needs, and whether a portable or a duct-mounted system suits the home better. That is what the free in-home air test is for, and it costs nothing. Businesses can call us at (519) 686-3595.

Is the Jaspr sold in Canada?

Yes, online only: Jaspr sells only on its own website, ships to Canada, and lists its prices in US dollars. The MedicAir® Pro is available in Canada and the United States, and Platinum Air Care, in London, Ontario, ships across North America. Call us at (519) 686-3595 or toll free at 1 (877) 339-4701.
