HVAC Services in Stratford, Ontario

Common questions

Do you install air conditioners in Stratford?

Yes. York is what we install, and whatever make is outside your home now, we remove the existing unit and install a York sized to your house. A new outdoor unit is matched to your furnace and coil, so the two work as one system instead of against each other.

What HVAC services do you offer in Stratford?

Furnace repair and replacement, air conditioner repair and replacement, and heat pumps, plus furnace tune-ups, ventilation inspection, thermostats, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and water heaters: installs, repairs, and service alike.

Do you repair furnaces in Stratford?

Yes. York is what we install, but we repair and service most furnaces already in Southwestern Ontario homes, including gas furnaces, high-efficiency systems, and older units. If yours is a make we cannot get parts for, we will tell you before we book the visit.

Who supplies natural gas in Stratford?

Enbridge Gas: the Ontario Energy Board's franchise list names Union Gas for the City of Stratford, and Union Gas became part of Enbridge Gas on January 1, 2019. Electricity comes from Festival Hydro, which serves about 23,000 customers in Stratford, St. Marys, and nearby towns. Enbridge delivers the gas but doesn't sell or repair furnaces or water heaters: for repairs and maintenance, it points homeowners to an HVAC contractor.

What size furnace or heat pump does a Stratford home need?

Ontario's Building Code sets Stratford's January design temperature at −18°C, the outdoor temperature heating systems there are ordinarily designed for, with 4,050 heating degree-days a year, 150 more than London. Nights below −20°C come about 4 times a year, and the city averages 218 cm of snow. Of Stratford's homes, 37.9% were built in 1960 or earlier. Which size suits a house comes down to its ductwork, insulation, and windows, so a new one is sized to your home and your ducts, not just matched to the old unit's label.
